Crux
Choreography: Ananda Fuchs
The choreographic process was inspired by the movie Behind the Front. "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth idea," says Ananda. She used three couples to demonstrate relationship conflict against a background of visual projections and dramatic tango music. "When the lights came up, the action had already started... you could see the negative of their footprints in the maize meal that covered the floor. When the curtain lifted, the dancers were continuing ... and they never really finished, nothing was resolved..."
